This was the second flower show being organized by the DOR members. We decided to do it in the community- Vasant Vihar Club. As this was our second experience of planning for the Flower Show, there was a significant increase in the participation of all the members. We were a little more confident this time in planning for the flower show. We were all involved from writing the proposal to having a meeting with Mr. Mittal, the person incharge at the Vasant Vihar Club and planning and organizing the show. Some of the key points are:-

  • The Venue and display team visited the venue twice to plan for the display of the flowers. They also checked the accessibility of the toilets and the fitting of the ramp was planned.
  • The information team worked on making the process board and keeping the informationmaterials at the information desk.
  • The Welcome team was supported by the whole DOR team in making the bookmarks to be given to the guests as souvenirs. They were there to welcome all the guests.
  • The refreshment group was serving hot coffee and biscuits to guests.
  • The inventory team had collected flower pots from AADI. They also went to the Vasant Vihar Club to collect the pots. Forty one pots had come as a contribution from the Vasant Vihar Club and the Vasant Vihar community. There were more than 150 pots to be displayed this time!
  • In this event, Care plan members joined the DOR members in different committees with everyone working together.

Many guests came from Vasant Vihar to visit the flower show. Everyone gave us positive feedback and said that they enjoyed being a part of this event!
